Located on Çekirge Street, the museum was opened to visitors as the Atatürk Museum on October 29, 1973 on the 50th anniversary of the Republic. Reflecting the 19th century features, the mansion is a 3-storey masonry building with an attic.
It was built as a mansion by Miralay Mehmet Bey in 1895. The mansion, which was given to Atatürk during his visits to Bursa, was gifted to the Municipality during Atatürk's second visit to Bursa in 1938, his last trip to Bursa. In the halls and rooms of the mansion, which is one of the rare examples of civil architecture in Bursa, the items used by Atatürk are exhibited.
